Phipps is seeking a full-time Community Outreach Coordinator to develop, manage and coordinate outreach programs for Adult Education. This will include the management of Homegrown, a community based garden installation program that helps families in underserved neighborhoods grow and prepare vegetables in raised bed gardens at their homes (more information about Homegrown can be found here). The Community Outreach Coordinator will work in Homewood, Larimer, Lincoln-Lemington-Belmar, and East Hills frequently, performing family and youth educational programming for community based initiatives, recruiting participants, scheduling garden installations and providing on-going garden support.

The qualified candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture, Environmental Science, Education or a related field and 3-5 years of experience with organic vegetable gardening. 3-5 years’ experience coordinating outreach programs in underserved communities, as well as with a variety of ages, is preferred.  The ideal candidate has a passion for interacting with the general public, co-workers and volunteers in a pleasant and courteous manner, a valid driver’s license and consistent access to personal transportation.
