Phipps is seeking a full-time Let’s Move Pittsburgh Program Manager to facilitate and integrate environmental and behavior changes with community partners across the areas of public health, education, food systems, social services and other related fields to better support healthy eating and active living, especially among children ages 0-12 at highest risk for obesity, and their families. Current target sectors include parents/caregivers, providers working in early childhood centers, schools, out-of-school and community groups, healthcare organizations and the food, restaurant and beverage industry.

The Let’s Move Pittsburgh Program Manager will provide leadership and promote the integration of existing efforts to improve active living and healthy eating activities by partnering with both external organizations and internal programs. This position will develop expertise in promoting the growing and cooking of healthy foods, getting kids outdoors and connecting with nature, and will coordinate the national 5-2-1-0 program. This will include the oversight of cooking programs at Phipps to teach children and caregivers how to cook, implementing a marketing and education campaign to promote healthy living and partnering with external organizations related to screen time and other methods of physical activity. The Let’s Move Pittsburgh Program Manager will also be responsible for grant administration, working with Phipps’ Development team to seek funding support for programs, as well as coordinating special events.

The qualified candidate must possess knowledge necessary to administer healthy eating and healthy living programs with children and be an effective communicator with the ability to work collaboratively.  A bachelor’s degree in public health and nutrition, or another health-related field is required; a master’s degree preferred. A minimum of 2-5 years of relevant work experience in public health and wellness fields is also requied, along with a valid driver’s license and consistent access to a vehicle.  Phipps offers a competitive compensation package, strong benefits and unique atmosphere.
