May 20, 2009 – Jan. 20, 2010

Phipps teamed up with German-born glass sculptor Hans Godo Fräbel for an extended exhibition of nearly 200 of the artist’s meticulous creations, including clowns, hyperrealistic flora and his signature longfellows, some of which remain on display in the Conservatory’s Orchid Room. When the G-20 world leaders visited Phipps for the opening events of the 2009 Pittsburgh Summit during this show, each was presented a specially designed Fräbel glass tree.
