Inside the newly-constructed Welcome Center, Phipps opened Café Phipps with a commitment to providing fresh, healthy food that is good for both people and the planet. In the years to come, the Café's sustainable journey reached numerous milestones, including eliminating plastic disposable service ware and composting all food waste since 2006, eliminating bottled water since 2009, eliminating hormones and antibiotics in meat and rBST in milk and utilizing only cage-free eggs since 2009, and eliminating soda and junk food since 2011.
