- Summer Flower Show: The Hidden Life of Trolls
Featuring one-of-a-kind displays of trolls inspired by the mythological creatures found in folklore and pop culture, this immersive, interactive exhibit is unlike anything Phipps has displayed before. - Celebrating John Bauer, Painter of Trolls
In association with Jönköpings Läns Museum, Phipps presents selected works of John Bauer, Swedish painter and illustrator who focused on landscapes and mythology. - Tropical Forest Cuba
Experience the natural beauty and culture of Cuba, one of the most biodiverse Caribbean island nations on Earth, in our immersive Tropical Forest exhibit. - Planets Earth Virtual Exhibit
A dynamic exhibit at the Center for Sustainable Landscapes (and now online) addresses the pressing environmental issues of our time and proposes a new way of thinking about how to solve them.
Tues., Sept. 21:
- Let's Move Pittsburgh Book Club: Week Three: Have You Ever Seen a Flower? by Shawn Harris | 4 – 4:30 p.m.
Let’s Move Pittsburgh Book Club. Each week, the LMP team will select a book to read that focuses on one of the four key messages of the 5-2-1-0 initiative
- Taste of the Seasons: Eggplant with Asian Dressing, Roasted Fennel and Apple Tarte Tatin | 6 – 8:30 p.m.

Western Pennsylvania Gardener Series | 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.
This series is designed for home gardeners in western Pennsylvania looking to upgrade their expertise and grow gardens that are beautiful and well adapted to the ecology of our region.
Fri., Sept. 24:
- Botanical Drawing l | 9:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Learn to identify basic shapes in nature and use a step-by-step process to create the illusion of depth through light, shadow and perspective.
Sat., Sept. 25:
- Autumn Gourds in Watercolor | 9:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Create glowing layers of autumn color to a single or multiple gourd composition through a series of demonstrations, individual help and group discussion.
