- Summer Flower Show: Gardens of Sound and Motion
Featuring contemporary installations by artists from Pittsburgh and beyond, this unique new show immerses you in a colorful world of eye-catching, interactive art, music and sounds. - Butterfly Forest
Celebrate with us and delight in the return of our fluttering pollinator friends and their favorite blooms on the opening of this breathtaking exhibit! - Tropical Forest Cuba
Experience the natural beauty and culture of Cuba, one of the most biodiverse Caribbean island nations on Earth, in our immersive new Tropical Forest exhibit. - Make the Switch at Phipps! Green Power Drive
Join the more than 1,000 families who have switched their home electricity to 100% green power while visiting our Tropical Forest Conservatory and you can receive free Phipps membership! - Cub'Art
On display in our Welcome Center gallery, this new exhibition, presented in partnership with Christine Fréchard Gallery, features the work of four Cuban artists who cite nature as a primary influence in their work. - Natives for Your Yard: A Botanical Art Exhibit
Stop by the Phipps Garden Center in Mellon Park to see our latest botanical art exhibit featuring plants native to southwestern Pennsylvania that you may recognize from your own backyard!
Mon., May 14:
- Make-a-Craft Mondays | 10:30 a.m. – noon
Create your very own Phipps masterpiece! Every Monday, children are invited to engage in nature-inspired arts-and-crafts projects using recyclable materials.
Wed., May 16:
- Story Time Wednesdays | 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.
Kids will love listening to our storytellers weave tales about gardens, fruits, vegetables, animals and other fun topics.
Fri., May 18:
- Pot-a-Plant Fridays | 10:30 a.m. – noon
Kids can pot their own plant to care for at home. - Environmental Film Series: Just Eat It! | 7 – 9 p.m.
Join us in Botany Hall Auditorium for a screening of Just Eat It!, a film that delves into the issue of food waste. Tickets are required to attend the screening and are free with regular admission to Phipps. Pick up your free tickets in Phipps' Welcome Center at 5:30 p.m. or later on Fri., May 18. - Enjoy the gardens by twilight; we're open until 10 p.m.!
Sat., May 19:
- Nature Lab Open Hours | 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Phipps' revolutionary non-toxic Nature Lab is now open for you to discover. - Meet a Scientist | 1:30 – 3:30 p.m.
Meet real scientists and ask about their work.
Sun., May 20:
- Summer Fun Fest with UPMC Health Plan | 9:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Enjoy special activities from Let's Move Pittsburgh and UPMC Health Plan throughout the conservatory at this one-day only event. - Nature Lab Open Hours | 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Phipps' revolutionary non-toxic Nature Lab is now open for you to discover. - Gardening Tools as a Focal Point in Flower Arrangements | 1:30 p.m.
Drop in to learn new ways to add a note of whimsy to your floral arrangements.
