Room Closures
Some areas of the public garden occasionally close during normal business hours for private events and other activities. Here's a snapshot of what's happening over the next several weeks, to help you plan your visit with us.
- Now through Nov. 14: Phipps will be restoring its historic Desert Room and Sunken Garden, the final two original glasshouse rooms still in need of restoration. These rooms and the adjacent Japanese Garden will be closed during this period. Learn how you can support the final stage of this important work.
- Sat., Oct. 5: Outdoor Garden | Noon – Close
- Fri., Oct 11: Outdoor Garden | 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
- Sat., Oct. 12: Outdoor Garden | 3 p.m. – Close
- Fri., Oct. 18: Outdoor Garden | 3 p.m. – Close
- Sat., Oct. 19: Outdoor Garden | 12:30 p.m. – Close
- Wed., Oct. 23: Entire Conservatory | 9:30 – 10:30 a.m.
- Thurs., Oct. 24: Entire Conservatory | 9:30 – 10:30 a.m.
- Sat., Oct. 26: Broderie Room | 4 p.m. – Close
Road Closures
- Please note that the nearby Charles Anderson Memorial Bridge, which connects Oakland to the Boulevard of the Allies, is presently closed to vehicular traffic, and follow posted detour signs or consult the City of Pittsburgh's detour instructions as needed.
Other Special Circumstances
- Please note that from 4 – 6:30 p.m. on Mon., Nov. 18, some of the light and sound features of Holiday Magic will be turned off. A sensory-inclusive experience taking place in the space between 4:30 – 6 p.m..
