Last Week in Science Education Programming

By Erica Jackson, Intern, Phipps Science Education and Research

Last Week in Science Education Programming is our weekly seasonal segment featuring our fall camp programs. This is the place for camp parents to find pictures of their campers in action and see all the fun things we did all week. It’s also a great place for educators to pick up craft, story and lesson ideas for their own early childhood programs!

Our last Fall SEED program was ‘Clean Air and Plants.’ We planted a special spider plant that removes toxins from the air and found more interesting plants (including pumpkins!) in the Edible Garden. While exploring the conservatory, we collected leaves that had fallen and later sorted them based on size. Finally, we used our musical talents to create some wonderful songs to fill the air and danced with our colorful scarves!

If you would like to learn more about Phipps' seasonal camps, or would like to register your little one for an upcoming program, please visit our website or call 412-441-4442, ext.3925 for more information!
