The holiday season simply isn’t complete without a trip to Phipps Holiday Magic, where glowing gardens and festive displays make spirits soar. This year’s theme, Botanical Brilliance, celebrates the beauty of plants through sparkling metallics, rich jewel tones and imaginative topiary displays. Poinsettias, amaryllis and narcissus fill the glasshouse with seasonal color, while gilded foliage and luminous sculptures reveal botanical beauty in unexpected ways. Outside, our iconic Winter Light Garden transforms the night with colorful displays for guests of all ages.

New Features

In addition to Phipps' signature combination of indoor and outdoor splendor, get ready to be dazzled by these exciting new features:

• A welcoming display of trees lit in a custom color combo of red, pink, and white 
• 130 feet of magnificent magnolia garland illuminated by warm white lights
• A 10-foot-tall poinsettia tree crowned with a gorgeous gold leaf arrangement
• Two trees shining with gilded foliage and rotating sunburst toppers
• A 12.5-foot-tall anthurium tree adorned with red blooms, green and white lights, and an animated starburst topper.
• An illuminated diamond-shaped sculpture surrounded by jewel-toned décor
• A garden-themed tree decorated by gnomes with watering cans and seed packets
• Charming trees inspired by holiday traditions, from ice skating to ugly sweaters.
• Motion-activated ice-skating animal topiaries on a frozen pond beneath snowflake lights
• A color-changing snowflake tree in the Outdoor Garden
• Glowing orbs, a gazebo lit in bright white, and a myriad of string lights beam brightly outside

The new Garden Railroad: Fairies and Gnomes display is on view, too! Discover a miniature forest where fairies and gnomes bustle about their villages, dragonflies hover overhead and trains wind through lush greenery.

• All of the lights used in our Winter Flower Show and Winter Light Garden are energy-efficient LEDs
• Since 2005, all of the electricity used at Phipps is renewable, some of which is produced on site
• Since 2010, all of the carbon dioxide emitted in order to heat our buildings has been offset

Phipps Holiday Magic, designed by Associate Director of Exhibits Jordyn Melino along with Light Garden elements designed by Exhibit Lighting Project Manager Gregory Messmer, runs Nov. 20 – Jan. 10.
