Phipps Conservatory Proudly Supports 2018 Living Product Expo
International Living Future Institute’s global event kicks off today in Pittsburgh, uniting thought-leaders centered on providing healthy products and spaces for everyone

Pittsburgh, PA — In its continued commitment to sustainability, Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens proudly supports the International Living Future Institute’s 2018 Living Product Expo to be held Tues., Sept. 11 through Thurs., Sept. 13 at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh.

Now in its fourth year, the Expo brings together thought-leaders across design and manufacturing industries to lead the revolution toward healthy products and spaces for everyone. At the event, several hundred industry leaders will discuss sustainable design, healthy materials, biophilic design, health and wellness and more, advancing the way materials are designed, manufactured and delivered. Sustainability leaders, architects, manufacturers and interior designers will benefit from a variety of engaging sessions to take their organization to the next level of sustainability.

Phipps’ President and CEO Richard V. Piacentini will deliver opening comments at this year’s event, sharing his insights on how Phipps has met the highest standards in environmental performance — a global model of sustainability that is inspiring visitors from around the world.

A recognized leader at the forefront of sustainable innovation, Phipps is home to one of the greenest building in the world: The Center for Sustainable Landscapes (CSL), remaining the first and only building to meet four of the highest green certifications including Living Building Challenge®. The CSL is a net-zero energy and net-zero water building that provides significant environmental, health and wellness benefits, addressing environmental issues while providing access to fresh air, daylight and connections with nature to showcase the healthiest, high performance space of its kind.

Phipps will also host a reception for Expo attendees Wed., Sept. 12 from 7 – 10 p.m., including tours of the CSL, located at One Schenley Park just a few miles from downtown Pittsburgh.
