Why is Phipps switching to digital membership cards?
It is part of Phipps’ mission to advance sustainability, and by using a digital membership card we save thousands of pounds of paper a year, plus the emissions created by mailing printed cards to you. Thank you for helping us save valuable resources and help the environment.
How do I add the digital membership card to my phone?
For iPhone users: access the email from your smartphone and click the “Download” button, then click “Add to Wallet” and “Add.” The card will automatically be saved in your iPhone’s Apple Wallet and can be accessed at any time. If you do not see the email, please check your spam and promotions folders.
For Android users: download Wallet Passes from Google Play. Once you have the app, access the email from your smartphone and click the “Download” button. The card will automatically be saved in your Wallet Passes app and can be accessed at any time. If you do not see the email, please check your spam and promotions folders.
There is another named member on my membership, how can they receive the card?
Navigate to the back of the card and use the share icon (box with arrow in top right corner – iPhone users) or “Share Pass” link (Android users) to send the card to the other individual(s) named on your membership. Please note that all members must have a photo ID upon entry.
How does membership renewal work?
The renewal process will not change – renew your membership online, by check, in person or over the phone and the expiration date on your digital card will automatically update once the membership is processed.
I prefer not to/am unable to use a digital membership card, what can I do?
Members who do not wish to use a digital membership card or who do not have a smartphone are welcome to present a photo ID at the admissions desk upon entry.
How do gift memberships work?
Phipps is working towards implementing digital membership cards for gift purchases. For now, the process for gift memberships will not change: membership cards will be printed and mailed to either the purchaser or recipient (as identified by the purchaser), to be received within one week. If a last-minute gift is needed, an online certificate can be downloaded immediately and printed or emailed, in advance of receipt of the cards.
