In 1986 Phipps began transforming the Perennial Garden, pictured here, into the 1-acre Outdoor Garden of today. The original hardscape, constructed by the Works Progress Administration in 1935, still remains.
NOTE: Due to the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix, street parking and the Schenley Drive center island will be closed July 16 – 19. Guests must enter via Schenley Park Bridge and use valet parking (free for members; $5 for nonmembers).
