In 1967 Phipps' original Richardsonian Romanesque entrance was demolished and a new one, shown here, was built in an effort to create more space for offices and meeting rooms. Its design, however, neither complemented the architecture of the historic glasshouse nor enhanced the guest experience, and it, too, was eventually replaced.
