Nov. 3 – 24, 1929

A statue of Venus, a gift from Henry Phipps himself which can still be seen at the Conservatory today, was among the iconic props used alongside the thousands of chrysanthemums in this year’s show. The show also included a marvelously tall wall of disbud mums, whose oversized blooms are accomplished by restricting each plant’s bud to a single stem.
