Phipps Conservatory Invites Families into a Wonderland of Whimsical Topiary Wildlife
Pittsburgh, PA – The holiday season isn’t complete without a trip to Phipps Holiday Magic, where glowing gardens and festive displays make spirits soar. This year’s playful theme, “Wild Winter,” invites guests into a wonderland of whimsical topiary wildlife and enchanting scenes at every turn. Step inside and prepare to be dazzled — we’ve gone all out with breathtaking new displays, brilliant décor and our signature floral masterpieces. From vibrant amaryllis and delicate orchids to a spectacular showcase of poinsettias, every bloom is a burst of seasonal joy. And the magic doesn’t stop at the door. Plus, the magic continues outside as our Winter Light Garden transforms the night with radiant displays in vivid, glowing hues — a dazzling spectacle sure to delight guests of every age.
Get ready to be dazzled by these new and exciting features:
- a season's greeting of multi-colored trees and twinkling red flowers;
- a stunning sea of red poinsettias among adorable cardinals decorating an 11-foot tree;
- charming topiary reindeer strolling through a winter wonderland of snowfall lights, white poinsettias and blue flora;
- a show-stopping orb tree shining bright above glowing icebergs and topiary polar bears;
- precious penguins participating in classic winter activities like, snowball fights, sledding and building a snowman;
- a striking light canopy creating a starry night sky above red, teal and white flora;
- a cozy fireplace decked out with warm white lights and paw print stockings to complement the topiary cats and dogs throughout the display;
- an undersea display with an amazing octopus chandelier and an interactive clam shell;
- gleaming orbs and cone fixtures that light along to the music playing throughout the Winter Light Garden;
- beautiful birdhouses lit in a marvelous rainbow of colors hanging in the Discovery Garden;
- a glimmering hydrangea garden with beaming arbors that create a fantastic photo op;
- blue lights beaming among snowflakes, snowballs and silver details to create an amazing archway in the Outdoor Garden;

The new Garden Railroad: The Age of Dinosaurs display is on view, too, taking you back in time to explore the prehistoric with miniature dinosaurs from the Mesozoic! Our Garden Railroad is sure to bring a fun-filled journey through history to the glasshouse!
