There's always something new to see and do at Phipps! This weekly blog post provides a run-down of the latest happenings so you can plan your visit. Events listed below require no advance registration unless noted otherwise. 

Open Daily: 

• NOW OPEN: Orchid and Tropical Bonsai Show: Into The Mist  
  This year's all-new engaging displays feature outstanding orchids and brilliant bonsai placed amid an evocative combination of water, mist and special lighting that provide a whole new way to enjoy fascinating specimens.
• Garden Railroad: Pennsylvania Through the Four Seasons
  Garden Railroad: Pennsylvania Through the Four Seasons will divide our miniature world of trains, buildings and landscapes into showcases of the four seasons as experienced in distinctive PA fashion, with a beach, a county fair and a bike trail among many other whimsical and interactive features.  
• NOW OPEN: Color, Texture, Shape: The Art of Deborah Sudran
  A gifted painter fascinated with plants and nature, Deborah Sudran sought to communicate her emotional response to nature with compelling color and powerful imagery, including orchids, bromeliads and other species that complement the displays you'll see in the Conservatory.
• Tropical Forest Hawai‘i: Aloha ‘Aina
  Tropical Forest Hawai‘i: Aloha ‘Aina invites guests to take an exciting, immersive journey through the rich history, nature and culture of the Hawaiian archipelago. 
• Planets Earth Virtual Exhibit
  A dynamic exhibit at the Center for Sustainable Landscapes (and now online) addresses the pressing environmental issues of our time and proposes a new way of thinking about how to solve them.

Wed., Feb. 21: 

• In-Person Story Time | 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.
  Kids will love visiting Phipps to listen to our storyteller weave tales about gardens, fruits, vegetables, animals and other fun topics. Attend weekly sessions with a special child in your life.
• Cozy Plant Forward Meals: Spaghetti Squash Bolognese | 6 – 7:30 p.m.
   A big spaghetti squash can be intimidating, but no more! Learn how to tame this wonderful vegetable and then add a few more to your plate by topping it with a rich mushroom bolognese.
• Study in Design Styles | 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.
  Floral design styles are ever evolving in response to social custom, economic conditions, fashion trends, and innovation. This class will explore period and current floral design styles including: Contemporary, European and Asian which will enhance a designer’s diversity.

Sat., Feb. 24: 

• Tropical Forest Hawai'i Festival | 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.
  Join us for a full day of exciting activities for all ages at our Tropical Forest Hawai‘i Festival, featuring entertainment, activities and more inspired by one of the world's most botanically and culturally rich forest regions.

Sun., Feb. 25: 

• Tropical Forest Sunday
  Escape to a warm tropical paradise and save at Phipps! Take 50% off admission every Sunday in February when you wear tropical-themed attire to the Conservatory. Enjoy the sights, sounds and scents of Orchid and Tropical Bonsai Show: Into the Mist and Tropical Forest Hawai‘i!
